Call quality with Verizon is not as good as it was with ATT in my home in urban Fort Lauderdale near the beach. Only 2 or 3 of the 4 reception bars, but that is probably not the fault of the Droid. All volumes are good and loud. The Droid is small, but heavy for its size. The on screen keyboard keys are too tiny for my fingers and I make many mistakes trying to input text. Entries must be made with the skin of your fingertips. Using the tips of your fingernails does not work. The slide out keyboard also has very tiny keys that are very close together and is awkward to use. The best feature by far is the voice input. It is almost always correct and avoids having to make manual keyboard entries. The web browsing is excellent and the navigation (GPS) is superb. On a recent two week trip to Las Vegas, I didn't even use my Magellan Road Mate 1412 GPS. The Droid did the job better, and with voice entries for locations and points of interest. My Magellan is now obsolete. One bad thing about the Droid is that there is no audio beep every five minutes to let me know that I missed a call or have a voice mail, as there was with my previous Motorola RAZR and KRZR phones. A missed call can go unnoticed for hours. There is no one touch speed dial, and it takes four or five swipes or clicks to make a call, even to favorite contacts. Also, each time you access your voice mail, you must enter your pin. This is a nuisance. Importing contacts to the Droid was a hassle, but was possible after several visits to the web. The phone is only a minor feature of this web oriented machine. I love the fact that different mp3 songs can be used as ring tones for each contact, and mp3's could be loaded into the large capacity 16 Gig removable micro SD card supplied with the phone, without having to download them from the web. My yahoo email was also easy to setup and use. I have not used the camera much, but the pictures seem dark when the flash does not go off. The one video that I took was also dark. I probably need to learn more about how to use the camera/video recorder. To me the camera was fast and easy to use, and not as bad as some of the prior reviews I read. My guess is that Android 2.1 probably fixed the previous problems. There are many apps available, but judging by quantity is misleading. Most of the thousands available are useless, but the fifty or so that I did find useful work well. So far, after 6 weeks, I have only downloaded free apps, and have no need for any of the pay ones. I am not into games and have none on my Droid. The user replaceable battery drains fairly quickly, but not unreasonably, when using the net a lot. The Droid has many features that are not covered in the user manual which needs to be expanded.

I love the phone! The battery life is average but acceptable. I don't get as good a signal as I did with my other phone but there isn't much I can do about that. The phone itself is great.

I have always wanted a smart phone that was not outdated by the time my two year contract was up, and this is the only phone I have ever owned that will be that phone. Easily the most amazing phone I have ever used and is much preferred over an iPhone. The Android library is great there are over 80,000 apps and 65% of them are free compared to 30% of Apple's app store. Another awesome feature of the Droid or actually any Android phone for that matter is the free GPS with turn by turn directions powered by Google Maps. The only negative side to the phone is the battery life. It's not the best by not the worst either, but it will require a charge probably everyday. There are ways to conserve the battery though such as turning off the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS which you can do with one click using the power control widget. After rooting it (giving yourself Administrator powers of your phone) you can use even more apps, a notable one setCPU will let you control the processor speeds, you can go up to 1.25GHz which is faster than all the new phones including the Droid X, Incredible, Galaxy S, etc. But you can also tell it to slow down the processor when you're not using it; it will help save a lot of battery. Another nice thing about this phone is it is what they call 'vanilla' which means it's not bogged down by things such as HTC Sense UI or motoBLUR which are just obnoxious and a waste of resources on your phone, also since its vanilla the Droid will receive system updates before any other Android phones. Overall this phone is great, I love everything about it, and don't regret purchasing it at all.

I would like to see more service in my town, granted I bought them for use while I was at work. Plus 30 dollars a month for a data plan when I see att offers unlimited data for 15 dollars amonth, they have few glitches mine the speaker was blown after 1 week and some times the screen does not respond

I'm still learning about this phone, it is the most 'involved' phone I've had to date, but I love it. The battery life is the only negative, but considering all the things the phone does, I guess I can take the time to put it on the charger every night.

I love this phone! It was a steal for the price i paid too! Although Verizon is much more expensive than any other cell phone provider, their service and customer service is 10 times better as well! The battery life is pretty weak on this phone, however, you can download a free app that will extend your battery life by a lot.

I really love the phone but hate the phone bill. Verizon is expensive for smart phones. I gave a 4 for design because it is too easy to hit the volume and camera buttons on the side and also the back key on the front. Battery life would be excellent if apps you have closed didn't run in the background (ie: gps).

Awesome phone, the best I've ever owned. I'm still playing with it so there is a lot that I don't know about the phone. There are an unlimited number of great FREE apps in the market. I rated the battery life a 3 because I'm always playing with it and constantly on the web so I have to charge it daily. One of my favorite features is Live Wallpaper. Don't really have anything to complain about. Once I figure out how to convert movies to watch at work (lunch) it will be perfect.

It's a bit clunky and akward. Don't like the slider or the keyboard as they are unneccessary since the touch screen works just fine. The camera is disappointing. Love the web capabilities it gives but needs more Apps from legit developers. For a first run, it's okay. Glad to see the modifications done for the Droid X.

It may sound all negative but really, I LOVE this phone. I have recommended it to everyone who asks about it. I can't wait to upgrade to another one without a slide keyboard. The hardest thing about this phone is actually making a phone call, ironically! I'm used to one key press for speed dialing and I haven't found that on this one. Also, not a huge fan of the tiny unlock button. Also, a complaint about the body glove cover. I started getting complaints about "muffling" after using the snap on cover.

Love the phone and just about everything about it unless you are a texter. The key pad stinks. Unless you have toothpick fingers or long pointed fingernails you'll miss key left and right and in the middle of typing somehow it tends to send before you are finished. Have always loved Motorola phones and LG phones but I have to say LG's key pads are 300 percent better.

First off I want to say that I love Verizon Service! But their phones are junk! I was at a Verizon store to purchase my first Smartphone which was going to be a Storm 2, When I was talked into buying the Droid...BIG MISTAKE! First few months worked good...Being on like my 6th month now Its CRAP! Dropping Calls, Person on the other end not being able to hear me, Phone mutes by itself, also when I plug it in at night when I wake up in the morning it's like I have to wake the phone up it's frozen to where I don't receive calls or text messages. WEIRD! Also have a problem with the battery saying it's dead when it's not, EVEN MORE WEIRD! I love The google maps on the phone and the being able to push a button and talk into the phone and it pops up what I'm looking for, really Only GREAT thing about this phone! Slide out key board keys are too small and I cant even use them without messing up...3G is always in 1x for no reason! Camera should not be listed as a 5mp because the camera quality sucks, My dare took better pics then the Droid does! Love all the apps I was able to get on this phone too...But I'm cutting my losses and going to go buy what I should have bought to begin with a BB Storm 2! I hope this helps Future Buyers of the Droid!

My Motorola Droid is GREAT. Plenty of apps and coupled with Verizon'z network is fast and consistent. Even in very Northern Vermont, off the beaten path, I get decent 3G coverage. Keyboard could be a bit better and the onscreen keyboard a little less touchy, but nothing I can't get used to.

OMG, the Droid is way better than the iPhone. Super fast and easy to use. I had an iPhone for ten days. It was an awful experience. The cellular service was bad, it took several attempts to connect. Then five minutes into the call it would drop. Let's not talk about 3G. What 3G! Very, Very slow. The only two things I don't like about the droid is the shape of the phone and there's not as many apps as the iPhone. But I'm not surprised, as the iPhone's been around much longer. The only reason why so many people want or have iPhones is because they were iPod users or Apple fans. People get caught up in the iPhone/iPod/Apple culture. You won't know any better until you try something else. Give Droid a chance, it won't disappoint!

Overall a great phone, even though I had to send mine back because I thought it was dropping calls. Turns out the proximity sensor was not working properly. So at times my cheek would touch the touchscreen, and the phone would mute, or go to another screen, and the person I would be talking to would not hear me and hang up. I should receive my new phone today, and hopefully I won't have the same problem.

Love this phone! I don't really use a cell phone to make many calls, but when we're traveling we're always needing information, and I was wishing there was some way to have our computer with us on the road. This Droid phone is our computer on the road, and we LOVE IT. It has built-in GPS, so it always knows our location. When we access Google, the GPS lets it know where we are, so it pulls up suggestions on restaurants, services, etc. that are close by. The built in navigator is awesome--many times we're wondering how to drive from Point A to Point B on the fly, and we can easily do that with the Droid. Excellent camera--we take travel pics and e-mail them to family, who love experiencing our travels in real time. Wal-Mart online currently has the best deal on this phone, too. Can't say enough good things about this phone.

I like this phone. I love Android OS (screw Apple). Very easy to integrate your life into it. Battery life is good just hard to give any battery higher then a 4. Pros: great signal quality, fast (way faster then old iPhone), Android os, every useful app you could need. Cons: slide out keyboard not all that useful (but the incredible is out now) Solid phone! Best I have owned!!

Great phone! Awesome apps. Locks up a little too often for my taste. Touch sensor is off and can take time to answer. But love the phone!

Call quality is low. I've had more dropped calls with this Verizon phone than I had with my Sprint phone. I'm not sure if its the phone or just the Verizon service near my house. Smart phone capabilities are top notch. This phone can surf the web and handle on the go computing tasks effortlessly. Battery life seems acceptable for a phone of this category and I always make it through the day on one charge, even with heavy use. One item that concerns me is the slide out screen. Its already starting to slide open more easily than when I bought it. Often when I pull the phone out of my pocket the screen has already slightly slid open. If I had it to do over again I probably would forgo the physical keyboard.

Overall very nice phone but when you want compose or forward a text message or multimedia message you can't select the contact. You have to return to your your contact list and copy the number then go back to your text /message. Its a very big hassle! Also I had to but another batteries just so I could use the phone all day without having to charge it. Bad battery life.

This is the best phone I've ever had and it's so easy to use. Its very helpful in school and everyday life; for example every time I wanted to eat out I would have wait for my computer to load but with this phone and it has super fast 3G and websites load super fast. I love this phone its so easy to use!

Came to the Droid from a BlackBerry Curve. This phone is amazing! The customization and free apps. Make this one heck of a phone. Battery life is not as bad as some say once you download some apps that help with the usage! Juice defender and Apollo Task Killer let my battery last 24+ hrs with solid use! Phone runs smooth and there is no lag. Phone is a bit on the heavy side but you get used to it. I highly recommend this phone!

I recently purchased Motorola Droid from Letstalk.com. I’m still learning how to use all the features on the phone. So far I am pleased with the phone. This is the first smart phone I have owned, so I don’t have anything to compare it to. I would also like to comment on Letstalk.com. The service was very good. I placed the order over the phone. It was easy and the order was shipped when promised. I ordered the phone on Saturday and it was delivered on Wednesday. The instant rebate was nice. I will recommend Letstalk.com to others.

I'm glad I switch to Verizon from sprint. I love the cell phone plan that I have. I like the Motorola Droid, but I like the Google Nexus One much better. Its much faster than the Droid and it has multi-touch. I found out that Verizon is going to be getting this phone very soon.

Wow! I can truly say this is the most fun I have had with a phone. The speed is amazing and the navigation is a breeze also, the sound quality is great. Thank you Letstalk.com for the competitive pricing. I've been a customer of yours for years and I am still pleased to do business with you!!

This phone is spectacular. My only complaint is that I cannot get my Yahoo! mail to receive on this phone. Other than that, call quality is crystal clear, reception is fantastic, speed of Android 2.0 is impressive. Can't go wrong with this phone and it's benefits.

Great phone, like it better than the iPhone. Don't like the slide out keyboard much, but for those that want the keyboard it would be good. The 5 m camera takes bad pictures indoors, but great outdoor photos. Plenty of applications.

Really like usefulness and interface design. Navigation software has been great to have. Battery life is a problem, as is the fact that I am unable to get good accessories to use while working out. Bought an armband style holder from Amazon, but the fit for the device was not good and it left a gummy residue along one side of the device. Motorola support indicated that they do not offer equivalent items. Very disappointing.

What a great phone! So far every application I wanted has been free, so that's a big plus too. I didn't even need to take my laptop on my holiday vacation. My only concern now is what I would do if I lost or broke it; I'm not sure I could get through a day without it now.

Nice phone. Very comparable to the iphone. Has some great apps and verizon so far has had great coverage. There are some apps that apparently drain the battery, so you need to make sure they're closed (which is a challenge at times). I've had a few times that the screen went blank and the only way to get it back on is to remove the battery and restart the phone. Had one instance where multiple emails were sent as a reply to people that had not been initiated by me. I now close email every time I use it and have not had that problem again. The keyboard keys are small and difficult to use. I find that the onscreen keyboard works easier and comes up when you need it. The voice recognition is great and I use it all the time to place calls, navigate to someplace new, do google searches, etc. All in all I prefer this phone to the iphones I have seen and used.

I have an iPhone from work in addition to the DROID. I'm starting to like the DROID a little bit more. I'm in love with android. I like the flexibility of the OS. You can customize it to fit your personal style and needs. It's easy to use, does what I want it to, and the android market actually has a lot of useful applications that parallel the apple store. The hardware is a dream. The home screen might only scroll about 98% as smooth as the iPhone, but that's pretty good considering the amount of applications that are usually running at the same time. It feels nice in your hands. The four soft button work really well, and I actually really like the look of the physical form of the phone. It compliments a well placed background on the home screen and the lock screen. The quality of the capacitive touch screen is right in line with the best on the market right now. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I really like the DROID. It fascinates me, even after I'm done being fascinated with the iPhone.
